Instructor Jay Brown
"1st Degree Black Belt Hapkido"

Instructor Jay Brown has had a long standing appreciation of the Martial Arts and over the years he has studied several disciplines including Kung-Fu, Shotokan Karate, and Aikido. In 2005 Jay came across an advertisement for Chon-Tu Kwan (Combat) Hapkido in a professional publication and he has been training in that style ever since. Eventually Jay had the good fortune to meet and train under Master Frank Huff (Vice President / New Jersey State Director of the International Combat Hapkido Federation). It was through his affiliation with Master Huff that Jay met Chief Instructor MacGregor. Instructor Brown is very appreciative of the opportunities that both Master Huff and Chief Instructor MacGregor have afforded him and he considers both of them to be his mentors and friends. He also trains several times a year directly under Grandmaster John Pellegrini (Founder of Combat Hapkido). Instructor Brown is also a certified Instructor in Ground Survival techniques under Master David Rivas.

Jay currently holds the rank of First Degree Black Belt in Chon-Tu Kwan (Combat) Hapkido with the International Combat Hapkido Federation and First Degree Black Belt in Hapkido with the World Ki-Do Federation / Hanminjok Hapkido Association. His rank is registered with the South Korean Government through the Ministry of Education and Culture. Brown had the honor of being inducted into the "World Karate Union Hall of Fame"in 2008 as "Combat Hapkido Instructor of the Year." He was nominated by Chief Instructor MacGregor and Master Frank Huff.

Jay lives in Burlington Township, NJ with his wife, Jackie and their two sons, Thomas and Tyler. His son Thomas is also a student at the school and currently holds the rank of Red Belt / Black Stripe in Chon-Tu Kwan (Combat) Hapkido. He is well on his way to becoming a Black Belt and was recognized for his excellence in 2008 by being inducted into the "World Karate Union Hall of Fame" as the "2008 Combat Hapkido Student of the Year." He was nominated by Chief Instructor MacGregor and Master Frank Huff.
